Submit your work and attend regularly scheduled group live calls for feedback and critique. Members are encouraged to participate in reviewing each other's work as well. Additional feedback is delivered in the community via recorded video. All calls are recorded so you can participate on your schedule. +How is this different from other design education? Shift Nudge focuses on proven frameworks rather than scattered tutorials. You'll learn the underlying principles that enable confident decision-making across any project, not just how to follow steps. +How much time does this require each week? The training is designed for 5 hours per week over 8 weeks. This includes video lessons, practice exercises, and community participation. The pace is flexible so you can work ahead or take more time as needed. +Will this help me build a stronger portfolio? Yes. Every lesson includes a design exercise. Later exercises chain together into complete interface projects. These are portfolio-worthy projects that can demonstrate methodical thinking and craft. +What level of design experience do I need? Whether building foundations early in your career, refining your approach mid-level, or strengthening visual execution as a senior designer, the framework applies. +Can I get an invoice with company details? Yes. Whether you need an invoice before purchase, for company approval, or a receipt after purchase, for expense reporting, we can provide documentation with your company information. +How much does Shift Nudge cost? One of the posters appeared on an episode of PBS’s Frontline, which covered the pandemic’s impact on the most vulnerable workers in the country. “Nathan’s work has been terrific. The identity reflects its subject matter and leans into its personal nature; the wordmark’s serif, Grenette, is inspired by early 20th century woodcut classics and features plenty of warmth in its contrasting features. A seal similar to those used in the agricultural industry was also created to pair with the wordmark or stand on its own. Additional work includes a template for Asm. Past magazines have offered extensive coverage of the genre, but their unpolished, tabloid-like feel left a lot to be desired. With horror’s recent renaissance taking the world by storm, Fear arose out of the need for a definitive guide to its past triumphs, one that’s as sleek and stylized as it is smart. I co-led design at Chestnut during their stealth seed-stage period, going from 0 to 1 on this app along with a massive desktop client sandbox that was demoed to Fortune 500 companies. Read More The agent-facing app allows users to view their commissions and bonuses, track their incentive campaign progress, and see how they rank in a leaderboard. All of this data syncs with the insurance carrier’s platform, which they use to manage and pay out all their agents. Contact me hear more about my experience designing this platform and its products. One of the posters appeared on an episode of PBS’s Frontline, which covered the pandemic’s impact on the most vulnerable workers in the country. “Nathan’s work has been terrific. He designed our Farmworker Relief Drive public awareness campaign and his creative approach really captured the attention of local residents – tens of thousands of residents supported our efforts!” — Rick Rivas, brother Close Product Ethos Life 1 of 1 Website homepage redesign for life insurance startup Ethos, completed during my time there as a product designer. Read More Beyond visual design work, I led the redesign of industry-leading tools for Ethos’ life insurance agents, including a new dashboard and a policy quoting tool. I later joined the Consumer team to improve our checkout experience. Contact me to hear more about my experience. The show airs the first and third Thursdays of the month at 3pm Eastern. Read More Cinema Centrale is about the music of movies, where I play the work of the greatest film composers of the 20th century. Each episode highlights one classic score by featuring a few of its songs and other music that reminds me of it. The website serves as an archive for past episodes and includes some fun details like an autoplaying Mixcloud embed and a cover image for each movie. Close Branding Agriculture Tour 2020 1 of 6 California State Assemblymember Robert Rivas was recently named Chair of the Assembly’s Agriculture Committee. The local, national, and global implications for California’s policies are massive, so Asm. Rivas embarked on a statewide tour to learn what needs to be addressed firsthand. Read More A small branding package was designed to elevate and promote the tour. Rivas’ daily itineraries, another for press releases, a set of logo stickers, and a fully illustrated map of the state and his tour stops. Close Self-Initiated Fear Journal 1 of 10 Fear Journal is a publication dedicated to the horror genre. Each edition covers a two-year period in cinema history, diving deep into specific films and elevating these classics to new heights. This prototype issue explores 1978 and 1979, with Alien, Halloween, and Dawn of the Dead featured within. Read More Despite boasting some of the most critically-acclaimed movies of all time, horror hasn’t been given the proper respect it’s due, particularly in the publishing realm. Functioning more like a critical journal than magazine-rack fare, its essays are tastefully and specially designed to reflect the quality of the films at hand.
