I have a varied artistic practice to say the least, with wide explorations in painting, sculpture and large scale light and sound installations, as part of the artist collective B612. When painting, I work in an intuitive and meditative state of flow, exploring form, composition and visual narrative. The strokes quite literally explore the canvas through energetic lines, patterns and glyph-like compositions which resemble life’s myriad forms - both real and fictional. My bold use of colour and abstracted expressions draw inspiration from a fascination of ancient civilisations such as the Aztecs, the Egyptians, and as far back as cave paintings. I am particularly fascinated by the similarities that many ancient cultures share and the ways in which their stories have been told through art and architecture. A key topic of my interest and research revolves around the practice of shamanism and the depiction of supernatural experiences. I have a varied artistic practice to say the least, with wide explorations in painting, sculpture and large scale light and sound installations, as part of the artist collective B612. When painting, I work in an intuitive and meditative state of flow, exploring form, composition and visual narrative. The strokes quite literally explore the canvas through energetic lines, patterns and glyph-like compositions which resemble life’s myriad forms - both real and fictional. My bold use of colour and abstracted expressions draw inspiration from a fascination of ancient civilisations such as the Aztecs, the Egyptians, and as far back as cave paintings. I am particularly fascinated by the similarities that many ancient cultures share and the ways in which their stories have been told through art and architecture. A key topic of my interest and research revolves around the practice of shamanism and the depiction of supernatural experiences.
