Balfrontower

Balfrontower serves as a digital repository and scholarly archive dedicated to the history, architecture, and community of the Balfron Tower. By aggregating public documents, archival research, and oral histories, the site aims to provide a multi-dimensional understanding of the building's significance within the Brownfield Estate and its relationship to the architect Ernő Goldfinger. The visual identity is unapologetically brutalist and academic, utilizing a monochromatic, typewriter-inspired aesthetic that mirrors the raw, structural nature of the subject matter. Through heavy use of monospaced typography, a stark grid layout, and a muted, paper-like color palette, the design prioritizes information density and historical authenticity over decorative flair, appealing to architects, historians, and local community members.
