new olds blog

new olds blog is a curated digital platform dedicated to exploring the intersection of design tradition and modern innovation. Serving as an archival and editorial space for the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa), the site documents exhibitions, designers, and the evolving dialogue of global design culture. It functions as both a scholarly resource and a visual journal for curators, academics, and design enthusiasts. The visual identity is a bold, experimental fusion of Brutalist layouts and high-concept typography. Utilizing a high-contrast palette of striking reds, deep blacks, and stark whites, the design employs massive, overlapping letterforms and a non-linear grid that challenges conventional web navigation. The aesthetic is unapologetically avant-garde, mirroring the very 'new olds' philosophy it promotes by blending archival sensibilities with a disruptive, contemporary digital interface.
